So once again i've been a slacker. I know, I know. I've just been so busy! :)

So to update you on where we are. I'm now 29 weeks 1 day, only 10 weeks left. I'm so excited to be counting down in single digits after this week. This pregnancy sure has flown by. With Kage I felt like I was pregnant for 2 years. LOL! I was just miserable with him. Channing has definitely been much easier on me which I hope it a sign that he's going to be a mommies boy :)

Since my last post we had some changes to the nursery, well actually the house. We had new carpet put in which made a dramatic difference to the nursery.

My grandmother also finished Channing's custom crib bumper which I LOVE! It's a plush white dot with dark grey trim.

As for my doctor visits I was just seen on June 13th and did my glucose test and blood work. Praying that I don't receive a phone call this week. If I do I will have to go back for a 3 hour glucose test, but i'm hopeful that I passed. I'm on a every 2 week schedule now so i'll be back on June 27th in hopes I will be able to schedule Channing's birthday. I'm going to push for August 26th or 27th in hopes that the doctor I choose will be able on the schedule that day. I still haven't made that choice yet because my original pick Dr. Campbell who delivered Kage is being deployed so he won't be here for Channing's arrival. Fooie! I have a few in mind so I'm hoping I can at least narrow it down to 2 doctors hoping one will be able to deliver Channing.
MAY 9, 2012

I really don't have any excuses other than i'm lazy and i'm not a big blogger so keeping you up to date or lack there of is my fault. SORRY :) So since my last post we came up with a name CHANNING RAYNE so i'm excited about that. My goal was to know both boy and girl names before finding out the sex but my hubby wasn't agreeing with me much on the boy names I likes to Channing it is.

I'm definitely feeling pregnant now. The belly is getting in the way and good gravy could I make anymore trips to the restroom to pee. Geez! It's ok though all for a good cause. No real cravings just trying to eat as healthy as possible. Luckily I am still heartburn and acid reflux free for the time being. Kage was a different story but i'm not complaining at all. :)

I have pretty much taken care of all the necessities I will need for the nursery, crib, changing table, decor, painting and my wonderful grandmother is making me a custom crib bumper that I can't wait to see when it's finished. Here is a few simi finished nursery photos:
The theme is Teal/White/Gray. I have a few wall decals to put up. There will be a decal over his crib that will have his name and one over the changing table that is a quote. "ONLY YOU KNOW THE SOUND OF MY LOVE FOR ONLY YOU FELT MY HEART BEAT FROM INSIDE" I will post the finished nursery pictures soon!

MARCH 17, 2012

Sorry i've been a little behind in keeping up with my blog. So to catch everyone up on what's been happening in the Bowen household.

I recently reached a very rough milestone in my life, on March 15th I turned 30! Nothing says your getting old like the number 30. I really had a tough time with it and i'm still in denial about it but nothing I can do to stop time so it is what it is.

On another note to brighten up my day on my Birthday I decided to get an early peak at the gender of our new bundle of joy. So I had an appointment at a Ultrasound Imaging place in Charlotte at 12:30pm. Dana and I met for lunch and headed to my appointment. When we got to the room it didn't even seem like the ultrasound tech had been waving the wand around on my belly for no more than a minute before she says "Well I think I already see what your having" and my instant thought at that moment was well there must be something poking out for her to see that fast, but we proceeded to check the face, body and overall growth of our baby. Which everything looked healthy and where it should be at this stage. So then we get to the good stuff, we are now looking for the goods. By this time Baby is being a little shy and keeping it's legs together and ankles crossed so we jiggled it around a bit and eventually Baby said "Fine if you want to see it that bad....HERE YOU GO!!!" So as my husband would say he saw 2 beans and a frank...LOL. We are having another little BOY!!! All the while I could not help but think to myself how much I really wanted a baby girl. Although I know I am much more prepared for another boy than I am a girl since I saved all of Kage's stuff.  But GOD knew I only wanted two kids and it was his plan for me to have two handsome boys, so I feel blessed and proud to be a momma of two boys.

Just to clarify the ultrasound technician informed me that boy have a turtle (see the shell and the head sticking out where the arrow is???) and girls have hamburgers. I thought that analogy was weird but true.
CAST YOUR VOTE!!!

Only 9 more days til we find out if Baby Bowen is a Boy or a Girl :) March 15, 2012!!!Cast your vote on what you think we are having at the bottom of blog.

February 2, 2012

Went to the doctor today and had my first ultrasound. Finally got to see proof that I do in fact have a baby in my belly.  It was so cute just wiggling and heard it's heartbeat for the first time. 181 Beats per minute. FAST!!! I hope it's a girl. :)

January 25, 2012

Wow 2011 was a year of surprises and tribulations for our family. First of the year we find out Dana is accepted into the 128th Basic Highway Patrol Academy and would start his 28 weeks of torture and hell on February 27, 2011.  It was a tough start going from a normal 2 parent household to being a single mother 6 days a week. I had my ups and downs but through it all it made us stronger as a family and made us appreciate one another even more. Each week was a struggle come Sunday for Dana to leave knowing another week of hell was ahead of him, but I knew he he was strong enough to make it through and come September 16, 2011 I watched him take his Oath of Honor and be sworn in as a North Carolina State Trooper. A very proud day for our family!
In the mist of Dana's absence back home I dealt with another matter of my own that some may know of but back in 2008 as I was in the OR at CMC University Hospital delivering my first born son Kage my doctor discovered I have a medical condition in my uterus called Endometriosis, which in turn causes scar tissue and very painful menstrual cycles. It is also something that if  untreated can cause many complications and could potential cause me to be unable to bare another child. In July 2010 I underwent surgery to remove most of the Endometriosis as possible. After several months past I noticed my pain was worse than before surgery at times and back to the doctor I went.  My next option was to try a 6 month treatment that would trick my body into thinking I was going through menopause and would stop my body from producing estrogen which feeds Endometriosis and makes it spread and grow,  which I started March 2011. During this time I went 8 months without a menstrual cycle (NOT COMPLAINING :) )  While I waited to begin my first cycle it was planned between Dana and I that we would immediately start trying to conceive with our second child once I did begin a new cycle. Well November 27th came and BAM Aunt Flow returned.  I knew then I did not miss her one bit but I was finally glad to see her. As planned Dana and I (Well you know) started the process of trying to conceive.

It's December 25, 2011 Christmas Day, and we are gathered at my Grandparents for our traditional Dinner with the family. Before getting there I needed something at the store and I knew the only place I could find on Christmas Day that would be opened is WALGREEN'S, so we stopped by on the way and while I was there I just had an odd feeling and thought let me pick up a pregnancy test while i'm here just in case.  Ok, now back to my Grandparents house, while the finishing touches were being made before dinner I made an escape to the restroom and took a pregnancy test with me. Well and to my surprise the were 2 pink lines the second one was faint but it was there. So I went and got Dana and showed him and he wasn't so sure at first that it was positive.  But I knew it was true, you just know especially with your second one.  A few days later I tested again and this time with a test that says "PREGNANT" or "NOT PREGNANT" and......
So I asked Dana "do you believe it now"?

My first visit to the doctor was January 12, 2012 I was 6 weeks and 4 days.  They did another test and confirmed infact I was pregnant (like I said) and did the usual blood work, paperwork etc. It's now January 25, 2012 I am 8 weeks and 3 days and I feel GREAT!  A little emotional and on edge but not sick or anything. I actually have alot more energy this time than with Kage. But I guess when your pregnant with your second and you have a soon to be 4 year old you don't have much time to be tired. So doctor says my due date is September 2, 2012. I will be have a scheduled c-section since I had complications with Kage and had one with him so I will actually be delivering sometime in late August. My next appointment is February 2, 2012 and I will get my first ultrasound and listen to the baby's heartbeat. :)
